Think of Routes & Revelations as that part cool, part nerdy, and slightly eccentric friend who has surprising destination suggestions, lots of useless facts, and some questionable jokes.
We’re here for travelers who embrace their inner tourist, march to the beat of their own drum, love a good bargain (but also know when to splurge), and are always on the lookout for off-the-beaten track experiences. And let’s be real, the last one is just as important as checking off those bucket-list sights!

We’re a family of three. I’m Claudine, a lapsed computer engineer/software developer and now an independent web publisher and marketer. I’m Obsessor-in-Chief and that’s me in those pictures – the only one willing to show face. I’m married to Mario, a long time software engineer. He could be obsessed but he pretends he isn’t. Together, we have a teenage daughter, Danica. We call her by various other names but she has threatened to disown us if we ever publicize them!
We’re from India and our names reflect a complicated ancestral history. Maybe I’ll tell it to you some day. International travel isn’t easy for Indians because of visa restrictions and a limited number of airline routes, but we try not to let this deter us.
Mario and I had traveled internationally before and a lot more after we got married. We started slow with Danica, but soon itched to do more with her. She’s now pretty seasoned and loves it just as much as we do. We haven’t had to bend over backwards to find so-called “kid-friendly” destinations, as she has readily absorbed the history, culture, and cuisines of new destinations.
When we’re not busy ogling at natural and architectural wonders or stuffing our faces with local delicacies, you can bet we’re working hard to fund our next adventure. Throw in a few hobbies, like cooking or playing an instrument.
I’m going to be your main guide and Mario and Danica will contribute a little with an insight or two, some photos, and some general over-the-shoulder chirping. Our guides are like the Swiss Army Knife of travel advice – they’re packed with useful information, but they also have a few hidden surprises that’ll make you chuckle. We believe that learning about new destinations should be as enjoyable as discovering a forgotten $ or € 20/₹500 bill in your pocket.
